Asbestos Removal
We're asbestos removal contractors, working on asbestos cement roofs, gutters and cladding. The failed sheets come off safely, and your building keeps running while we're up there.

When asbestos removal is the right call
Asbestos roof removal is usually the answer once the cement sheets have cracked, started leaking, or are in the way of other work on the roof. Until they come off, the problem sits on your asbestos register with your name against it as duty holder.
The survey comes first, because the answer changes sheet by sheet. Sheets that have failed come off under non-licensed or notifiable non-licensed work (NNLW) procedures and go to licensed disposal, with the paperwork back to you for your records. Sheets that are still sound get encapsulated and stay where they are. Once the roof is clear, we re-sheet or overclad it.
The work runs to HSE's industry best practice guidelines, and you get the method, the controls and the price in writing before anyone touches the roof. We cover Scotland and take jobs into the north of England.

What we cover
What our asbestos removal service covers
No two removals are the same, because the survey findings, the access and how the building gets used all change what the job looks like. Here's what's covered.

Asbestos survey and identification
We confirm what the material is and what condition it's in before anything starts. The method and the controls follow from that.

Non-licensed asbestos cement removal
We take asbestos cement roof sheets, gutters and cladding off under controlled conditions, working to HSE's industry best practice guidelines. The team doing it is trained, supervised and insured.

Encapsulation instead of a strip-out
Where the deck and the sheets are still sound, we seal and coat the asbestos cement instead. It buys years, and you don't pay for a removal you didn't need.

Safe disposal and the paperwork
Waste is double-bagged, logged on a manifest and taken to a licensed facility. The consignment notes and the clearance record come back to you.

Re-sheet or overclad after removal
Once the roof's clear we re-sheet or overclad it, and because removal and replacement run as one job, the building isn't left open between the two.

Systems we install
For the new roof we fit composite panel, profiled steel and built-up systems. Where the substrate underneath is still sound, we overclad rather than strip and re-sheet.

Our Process
How an asbestos roof removal runs
Five steps take you from the first look at the roof to the new sheets going on, with the controls and the paperwork handled at every one.

Survey and confirm the material
We get up on the roof and look at the asbestos cement sheets, the gutters and the cladding. If you already have an asbestos survey we work from that, and if nobody's recorded the material yet we get it identified. That tells us whether this is non-licensed asbestos roof removal or the higher-risk licensed kind. Licensed work isn't ours, and we'll pass you to a licensed contractor for it.

Method statement and price
Before anyone starts, you get a method statement and risk assessment written for asbestos, the work area and access we'll be using, and the price. We'll also set out how the rest of the building keeps running while the roof is open. Where the work is notifiable, we send the statutory notification for you.

Controlled removal
We lift the asbestos cement sheets off whole wherever we can, instead of breaking or cutting them, because that's what keeps fibre release down. The fixings come out by hand. The area stays damped down and fenced off, and we control who gets near it while the roof is open.

Disposal and clearance
The waste goes off site on a consignment note to a licensed facility. The paperwork and the clearance record come back to you, so your asbestos register is up to date and the duty-holder file is closed off.

Put the new roof on
With the deck clear, we re-sheet or overclad straight away. Removal and the new roof are one job with one contractor, so the building gets closed back in without waiting for somebody else to turn up.

FAQs
Frequently asked questions
An asbestos cement roof that's in one piece and left alone is usually fine. It's when it cracks, breaks or gets worked on that fibres come off it. If yours is leaking or damaged, get someone to look at it before anything else happens up there. Don't drill it and don't break it.
You don't need one for asbestos cement roofing. That's non-licensed work, and we do it to HSE's industry best practice guidelines with trained, insured people and proper method statements. Higher-risk licensed work we pass on to someone who holds the licence.
Where the cement sheets are still sound, we'd usually leave them where they are. That means overcladding or encapsulating them, and changing only the panels that have actually gone. We tell you which way to go once we've been up and looked.
We work to HSE's industry best practice guidelines, which means lifting the sheets off whole rather than breaking them and keeping the area controlled while we do it. The waste is consigned and written up for the duty holder. We specify the new roof at the same time, so the building only gets opened up once.
We're an NFRC member and CHAS Elite accredited to the Common Assessment Standard (membership 179269, valid to 12 June 2027).
